The Beach

Wading through the water, standing on the sand, or “chilling” on a chair overlooking the Indian, Pacific, or Atlantic Ocean, the sensible sentiments of serenity are the same.

Truly scenic isn’t it?

For me, the beach is a place of peace.  Just looking at these pictures, I want to be back at the beach right now.  When I’m standing in the cool Pacific water, I am preoccupied only with observing.  I don’t have any worries, the sea breeze rustles my hair, the caws of the seagulls are registered by my ears as well as the soft rush of the waves onto the wet sand.  In my sunglasses, the beach looks something like this.

Yes, that is no filter.  But take a step back and you’ll see why…

Just for the record, those fingernails are my sister's.

I’ve been enamored with the beach for about 2 years now.  I did a Jr. Life Guard summer training program for 4 years starting in 5th grade and ending, the summer before my freshman year of high school.  Because high school sports are overly and unnecessarily time consuming, I was unable to go to the beach much for the next couple years.  I was missing out on this!!!!!

Rise and shine!

I decided to take a summer off from basketball so I could return to the most beautiful place in the world, the beach.  It was worth it.  I got to see more beautiful scenery, such as this.  Maybe this summer I can get a sunset picture!

Just missed the sunset.

Just missed the sunset.

  1. For me as well, the beach is the most relaxing place, only second to the serenity of the forest. What I find extremely nice about the beach is the soothing sounds of the waves crashing against the shore especially at night. With the sand on your legs and cool, ocean breeze it truly is an amazing experience.

  2. I love how the beach can either be a calm, relaxing sanctuary or a place to run around and have fun. Sometimes I go down there with friends and it’s fun to just sit down and talk around a bonfire while other times we splash around in the water and play games on the sand. Regardless, we are so lucky to be so close to the beach and I think we take it for granted too often. There is never a time, rain or shine, when the beach doesn’t look absolutely beautiful.
